The people of New Orleans will be pleased to learn that NASA wants to return to the moon. Apparently the world needs more moon rocks.

Let's send Bush, the Cabinet, and Fox News...and fucking leave them there ![]()
Hmm, the government *was* looking into ways to relocate the survivors of Katrina in a way that wouldn't affect their power base :p

C'mon, it's not fair... they will spend 200 billions (lot more probably) to rebuild the city.
The space program isn't part of this, and we're talking about 2018...
Plus, I'll be happy to see this in my lifetime....

How much are they comitting to returing to the moon then?
Perhaps they are investigating if moon rocks are suitable for building levees.
This is all crap- we should be going to Mars! The space exploration programme has gone into slow motion since the first moon landings because they don't want us to know about aliens!
Don't know if you were around during the Age of Befuddling (Huntsman the First of Marske 2001-04), but H used to be of the opinion that the first moon landing was all a hoax. Rational argument was quite useless.

Nope... my lurking only began about a year ago... I reckon they did land, but I also reckon there's lots of green tentacles being swayed around up there that we're not being told about.

Where the hell did you get that?
That photo is classified 'eyes only' information!
Let's hope the CIA's webcrawler doesn't spot this...

The US has been pissing money down the drain in New Orleans for years, did not do much good. Levee system not strong enough to hold back Fat Bob's farts, money dedicated to study evacuation plans spent on looking at "future options for the 24 mile long bridge (AP article, Des Moines Register 9/18/2005, page 7A) plus all the welfare money encouraging people not to seek a better job and concentrating them in flood ground zero. Then again the only people I know that move to find a better life or job are Mexicans.
