Much Ado About Nothing

The title "Much Ado About Nothing," Dr. McWhorter said, is a word play on "Much Ado About an O Thing," the O thing being a reference to female genitalia.

Interesting.

It's funny that much of what we consider prim morality really dates from the Victorian era. Look further back and the things that people got up to (and wrote about) would make modern people gape.

It also shows the differences between 'American' and 'English'; I still sometimes say "I'm going to the bathroom" when I'm out somewhere, which is probably the most American expression around. Though saying "I'm going to the toilet" still sounds a bit direct to me
