Mobile Phonebills

I have Vodafone.

I pay my bills every month. Problem is, the bill doesn't say how much I pay per minute.

So I called them, and they said what I pay, etc etc etc.

Then the girl said to me, if you switch to this subscription (is that the right word?), you'll save 52% of what you pay today.

Well, this is a good thing. But the bad thing is that they used to call ME twice a year before, just to tell me how I should to to get cheaper minute price, now I had to call them!

Any way, do you understand this jungle of mobile prices?

I understand the plan I used to have. Although I could never work out the best value, i.e. the most amount of minutes for the least amount of money.

The plan I used to have. Until my ex wanted to start something up again, got me to calling her international (Canada-- there's another pricing issue; calls to Vancouver, which is about 300 miles away, are charged international rates, while calls to New York, which is 3000 miles away, are part of the plan.) every day for at least an hour. Got me to run up a $400 phone bill THAT I CAN'T AFFORD before she decided to pull the plug on our reunion.

Mind, it's the PHONE I miss.

My phone plan is quite clear. I pay 60PLN (about 15Euro) for 100 minutes to my operator's numbers and another 40 minutes to everybody. So I have 140 minutes per month.

Is it only Brits that get fooked over a barrell when we use our mobiles outside the UK or do mainland europeans have the same problems?

Mine is also pretty clear. 700 anytime minutes/ unlimited use on Thursday through Sunday.Long Distance count as regular minutes unless its overseas. Seems to me that some of you are getting ripped off. This is more then enough minutes for myself so i even let my friends make long distance calls.

I've been with (Eircom) Meteor since the week they started in February 2001, and to the best of my knowledge I'm still on the same price package, with the exception of getting free Meteor to Meteor SMS's

Should really phone up and see what nearly half a decade has done for prices...

i'm with t-mobile. 1000 anytime minutes inside the US, free weekend minutes and free after 9 pm everyday (inside the US, of course)--$49/month. 8 cents a minute to the UK (not bad) and 34 cents a minute to australia (not as good). i have to pay for any calls i make or receive that aren't included in my plan. still, not a bad deal. at least i don't have call nauru on a regular basis ($8/minute).

until last month i had 500 minutes/month and ran up a $250 phone bill since i wasn't working over the summer and made so many daytime calls that i ran WAY over my anytime minutes. needless to say, i changed my plan.

I'm living in Denmark at the moment, and signed up for a Lebara phone that uses pre-paid phone cards as the source of minutes. Once I run out, I can't make another call. I'm fairly reliant on text messaging since it is significantly cheaper than calling. Isn't that interesting?

I'm on pay as you go which is the best for someone like me who doesn't make a lot of mobile calls. I buy £20 vouchers and since I mostly just text people it lasts for months. Though at 12p with Orange I think I'm paying the highest rate for texts in the UK.

Very annoyed that I can't bring my pay as you go phone over to the US. I'm not looking forward to shelling out $$ for a contract!

Got rid of my mobile. Been cell free for a year. I am so important that other people take my calls for me.

My vodafone contract expired in June & I switched to o2. The price plans don't seem as easy to understand as vodafone but the most important part of the bill, the total I'm paying, is crystal clear. Just over half my average vodafone bill.

My current tarrif is 22c per minute at all times for calls to any landline & mobile (within Ireland) with €16 free call value, & 200 free texts (again within Ireland) per month. Also get 250 free texts per month via the o2 website which includes overseas.

I guess I should actually address the topic. I don't get mobile phone bills. I still only have Vodafone Prepaid.
