Hard decision but I voted for TNG. My second choice would be the original.

TOS for me too. By the way, when news broke that Paramount was doing a prequel series I was ecstatic, as I had been craving for such a series for years... until I got news of the end result!

That fucking "Brannon-Braga-on-drugs" Temporal War arc... That fucking Akira Class-based Enterprise... That fucking "Star Fleet with only one starship" concept... That fucking "a vulcan in Star Fleet? But wasn't Spock supposed to be the first Vulcan Star Fleet officer?" mess...

And I'm not even a Trek-hater; I find it mildly entertaining at three in the morning when I can't get to sleep. But I've never jumped on the bandwagon other than a few Shatner references and the odd "KHAN!" outburst. It's just not my cup of tea

TNG for me, heck I'm buying the dvds one at a time aren't I. Then its a toss up between Voyager and Kirk and crew.

'twas my crush on wil wheaton that convinced me to watch the premiere of TNG back in 198whatever. then i realized it was just a damn good show!

It's okay, but nothing compared to "Hard Day's Night"

I'm not anti-Trek, I've watched more than my fair share of it over the years. I've seen most of the movies, a lot of the old original show, some of the Next Generation, and some of Deep Space Nine and Voyager (all because one of my best friends was a huge Trekkie, and my cousins were as well). I just never got into it. I know of what I speak, and I say that it never really screamed to me "this show is great!" or "You should really like this show!"

In other words, it didn't move me the same way The Six-Million Dollar Man did :D

I admit that i used to watch Star Trek over many years...

"Original Series", i've always liked the best, even used to watch it everyday when i was 5 yrs old. the style of TV has become dated, but the original series is still better/smarter science fiction than almost all of the TV science fiction of the last 20 years... which is pretty sad if you come to think of it

Next Generation had very likeable characters even if the writing was often wishy-washy, very formula. love Patrick Stewart on American Dad too

Deep Space Nine started pretty bad, ended pretty bad, but in the middle had some good episodes, decent writing, likeable characters, but Brooks as the captain was never really allowed to really flesh out his character... was hard to see the episodes

Voyager made me vomit. the writing not very good to totally moranic and horrible, the characters i found to be repulsive, especially the captain's attitude and ego, and the horrible vulcan. i think the show reflects the Republican attitude of liberalism during the late 90s... sort of a self-righteous facist bitchy humanism with vague shallow platitudes (hmm... similar to Bush)

Enterprise... i watched the first few shows in hope that they would make a different show, then gave up... very bad science fiction, more fuzzy Republican facism... no sign of any fresh minds in the writing... and i just remembered the theme song!!! WTF! and it's mankind's first attempt at interstellar travel, they build a very expensive ship, select the very best crew... and they drive around and see what they can find without any plan or rational sense, becasue, you know, thinkin' is stupid just like just those liberal vulcans, you gotta make decisions based on your heart... what stupid fucking bullshit

Agreed to some extent (though I think a couple get by on goodwill). The only reason they started doing those was because Star Wars took off so big in '77, and pasty-faced nerds were hungry for more sci-fi action. What they got was "the many hairpieces of William Shatner". And Gene Rodenberry became a very, very, very wealthy man on the back of some of the most overwrought acting and stilted dialogue in history. The movies are to varying degrees watchable, but not by much

The original series for me, please, though I wasn't a huge fan by any means, I usually would only watch it when I was home. Gotta admit, this thread is useless w/out pics of Seven Of Nine.....

I was wondering how long it would be before we got to see her. I have to admit I got into Voyager a bit late, but I definitely noticed her.

TNG, just ahead of DS9. Voyager was ok at times (and it had Geri Ryan of course) but I was never really into TOS. It's a pity the way Enterprise turned out, it could've been good with a bit more attention. The last episode was complete shite, it seemed really rushed & the format was terrible. Did they think that viewers would accept present-day Jonathan Frakes & Marina Sirtis as the Ryker & Troi we watched in TNG?

Enterprise wasn't a TOTAL loss though... ;)

Best ST Babe has to be 7 of 9 (and I don't usually like blondes (even though I am one)). T'Pol's a close second.

Beside her sits Professor Victor Bergman, an advanced android who is the moonbase's Chief Medical Officer (well, let's not keep all of the old elements, otherwise what's the point in re-imagining this shit?). At the ship´s controls seats Alanis Carter (what the hell, let's change everything. Anyways, who fucking remembers the original?), the tough-as-nails, no-shit-taking, kiwi Chief Astronaut. Suddenly, a bolt of light hits the spaceship...
