I'VE HEARD THE NEW DEPECHE MODE ALBUM !!!!!!! — Forum Archive

And I can't say I'm too amazed after hearing it, although I do salute the fact it has some of the sound of the mid-80's Depeche with an "alternative" feel to the songs.

I'm gonna give it several other listens of course, but I don't think they will be revolutioning the face of music with this album neither.

Ah, well... there's still a tour coming.

i know that this album is supposed to not be like the slower songs of faith and devotion, ultra and exciter albums. they wanted to pick up the pace. i have only listened to precious. it sounded like classic upbeat DM. it's all good for me

At least he posted it here on Behind Closed Doors and not on the main Digital Republic forum(s)...some of us DO appreciate some of the works produced by the Basildon and Crawley lads, albeit not to quite the extent to which we hold for NO..which is why most of us tend to surf to this site as opposed to the other fan sites and some thanks is due to the ones that do and can be arsed to tell us what's happening in those paralell universes(fook, that sounded a bit like Paul Morley :eek3)

WHY ? I'll tell you why !!!

Because Depeche Mode is at least releasing new material and not their 5th compilation in ten years for heaven's sake!!!!!! How many different versions of the same songs on different formats must a human being really possess? SORRY, BUT I JUST DON'T CARE ANYMORE!!!!!!

Now when New Order comes uith new material, I'll be there... and if they would tour FOR REAL in order to play this material, then I'd be there fully.

But for now... let's talk about Depeche.

I somehow agree. I'm not a collector of any band. As long as I have all their songs, I don't need both the single and the album. Or the UK version, Japan press etc..

The more so since Singles is, again, a missed opportunity. At least, when DM released their single collection, they put the genuine 7 inch versions on it.

And, for fook sake, this is the OOT forum, so DM have their place here.
