Was just trying to order some NO related stuff from Amazon. What a pain in the goolies.

First I try and buy the US versions of Krafty and Jetstream from a 3rd party seller. But my bank declines the second card use becuase it was the same amount as the first within a short time from the same seller, and some automatic security feature kicks in. Then when I try and revise the order the 'revise order' button on Amazon's 'my account' page just leads to a 404 'page not found' error (ironic given my forum name).

Then when I try and email Amazon to complain about them having dead links on their pages, making it impossible to revise orders I can't find any customer service email, I just follow links that take me round and round in circles, never telling me the wretched email address.

Then I order what was clearly listed as the US (warner) version of Krafty cd single from another third party seller. It arrives and turns out to be the UK version.

Now I have to try get a refund for that. Poxy poxy Amazon.

I feel sorry for you, but in my 4-year experience I've never encountered any problems with Amazon.com, and I mostly deal with third-party sellers. I hardly buy a new stuff, unless it's something unique and precious :))

Actually both Amazon and the third party seller have now got back to me and it looks like both issues will be sorted out. For some reason part of Amazon's site seemed to have become inaccessable from here that day, but it all seems to work now. So now I'm all calmed down again.

404 error, are you in the UK? Which version of Amazon have you been having trouble with: UK, US or one of the others? I'm in the UK and I got the US CD versions of the WFTSC album and the Krafty and Jetstream singles directly from US retailers (but not Amazon - I used Tower Records and CD Universe).

Buying items directly from retailers abroad can be cheaper than buying imports from UK retailers: Tower Records are selling those two NO singles for $5.99 each (less than £4) but I'd expect a UK retailer to sell them for £8.99. Delivery charges are obviously higher (although not much higher than some UK retailers) and import duties can be a problem (but only if you order too much at once). If you want any tips tell me.

I've found that Amazon UK aren't as good as they were a while ago but my main problem with them is the time it takes them to send stuff. I've placed orders only containing items listed as being "usually dispatched within 24 hours" and it has taken the best part of a week for them to be dispatched.

Indeed it seems there's been a blackout at Amazon just recently - I've heard from my friends that they have encountered some problems with direct orders from Amazon.com this month, which had never happened before.
