Anyone seen this yet on Comedy Central, and if so, what'd you think?

Personally, I think it's been MUCH funnier than The Daily Show the last few nights. While any new show can be good right from the get-go and then lag, I'm hoping that it doesn't happen with The Colbert Report. With a decrease in quality in the Daily Show over the last month or so, I'm starting to suspect that Mr. Colbert was the driving writing force of his former show. Thoughts?

i haven't managed to stay up late enough to watch it yet, but stephen colbert is my favourite daily show anchor (and i do fancy him a little :uhoh: ). does it show in reruns the following day after the daily show, at 7:30?

Does it have This Week In God?

Colbert is funny as hell... but his show needs a little something more than just 20 minutes of his schtick, needs some other features with somebody else. maybe do his point/counter point with somebody like Cordry or something and have other features like the God stuff (which I think is not going to be on the show)... the shows lite on content so far

As for the Daily Show... what is with all the new correspondents just being assholes to people, just imitating previous people on the show without adding anything new... anybody can be an asshole, let the people make fools of themselves... they got to try a little harder than just being obnoxious assholes. Samatha Bee is pretty much nothing but an asshole also, she really has almost no element of parody whatsoever. Rob Cordry takes it too another level thou, and maybe his brother will be good also.

i watched the colbert report rerun this evening and i'm watching the new episode now. it's good but it does need more than just colbert as a talking head. no, it doesn't have this week in god (yet), and i hope it's in its learning stages and they'll tweak it.

Cordry has taken over This Week in God on the Daily Show. I agree that Colbert needs something more to carry his show, as I can see his holier-than-thou journalist bit wearing thin already, but I still think he's doing a better job than the Daily Show lately. But who knows what next week will bring?
