You're right. Actually I saw the saddest movie in my life. It's called "Gray Flowers", a documentary by a Georgian director, about children (well, teenagers) in the juvenile prison camps in the mid-90s. You see how they torture each other very cruelly, their stories and how their "zone leaders" do whatever they want over the rest. An absolutely unhuman show.

Godfather 3. Now that did make me cry.

The name of Georgia reminded me that I'd taped, but hadn't gotten round to watching a documentary entitled Children Of Beslan, and the mindless massacre of children. The survivors of this tragedy tell their story, I'm quite positive I'll be thinking about them long after the show has ended.

when i watched the trilogy in the chronolgic video box set form, it does fit in ok to be fair. but on its own, i will not touch it, i think i've watched it once on DVD in over 3 yrs of owning it

well, it's bestest you see it first, it's a terrific movie so don't want to spoil it in any way.

ANZAC day is a national holiday in Oz, as well. i went to a great ANZAC party in scotland where much foster's and castlemaine XXXX was imbibed.

as for the killing fields, that one gets me every time. especially the end where the two men meet again in the refugee camp and john lennon's 'imagine' starts playing. that it's a true story makes it even more moving.

it's a shame that dr. haing s. ngor was murdered in a robbery a few years ago--especially since he survived the killing fields, only to be murdered in LA.

When The Wind Blows: a cartoon film from the creator of 'The Snowman'. It's about this elderly couple who survive a nuclear bonb, and then gradually waste away. The last shot always gets me.

JFK: glorifying Jim Garrison's disgraceful and sick persecution of two innocent people is sickening. What's worse is that Stone has David Ferrie confessing his involvement in the murder of JFK, despite the fact that Garrison made all the charges up in his head.
