You can't say Star Wars without saying Star Trek these days. So what is your favourite Star Trek movie? (Sorry if we had that already)

I prefer "First Contact".

i have my three faves

First contact, nemesis and (cough cough) Final frontier.

Closely followed by wrath of kahn and Undiscovered country.

After the motion picture which was pretty poo, i don't think there is one duff ST film, if only they'd bring patrick back for one more voyage

Wrath, Undiscovered then First Contact.

Nemesis was sooooo embarassing... Patrick should have said goodbye properly by either becoming an Admiral desk jockey or by getting blown into little pieces.

The franchise is now in a very sorry state; I hope it stays dead for 5 years and then comes back with some proper stories.

i love the Undiscovered Country, kirk is over the top, i love when he and bones are sent to the Intergalactic Prison, and who can for get the incriminating evidence recordind of kirk bashing the Klingons that they played for the Tribunal that damned him. and kim katrall as a ruthless vulcan!

the voyage home was pretty funny too, when spock renders the angry Punk Rocker Unconscio with the vulcan Kneck Pinch and the bus full of people applaud. also from that film bones have some pretty good one liners in the hospital about Primitive 20th century Medical tactics

Why was nemesis embarassing?

i just hope that Rick Berman gives up the reigns and passes them onto someone who actually likes star trek

Well, I prefer "First Contact" because it's by far the best action movie of all those. And the Borg's are ace anyway... The last movie (Nemesis) was big sh....

It was a good story on paper, but the delivery was cack... The data clone and all the gushing over that was terrible... Data dies, but sort of doesn't because he has a replacement... that was so painful to watch...

And Riker's wedding to Troi was very very hollow; it should have been so more dramatic and emotional...

The jeep races were also cheesetastic...

I dunno; it just seems like people turned up for the paychecks and didn't give a frig about the quality of the script or acting... It was souless.

The Undiscover Country--the whole assassination scene of the Klingon was ace. And the battle between the Enterprise and the cloaked Klingon ship was ace as well.

Wrath of Khan my next fave. Amazing how they took one of the worst episodes and made it into a fantastic film.

I thought Patrick Stewart (and i'm not just saying it becuase i like him) was superb in it so was tom hardy as shinzon, i'll give you the Data clone bit it was pretty cack, but i've never been bothered about Data and hes never been a character i've ever really grown to like, but overall i thought it was quite funny the jokes between the cast were pretty good the guy who was jim robinson in neighbours was in it what more can you ask for

With Patrick Stewart Bagging $15m to come back for the role i'm not suprised he turned up.

Sorry, but a good playing cast can't save a dumb screenplay. I went to the midnight preview with a couple of friends and Trekkies. We were all disappointed...

Thats fair enough and its each to there own, and thats why everyone has different favourites, i didn't like nemesis when i first came out of the cinema i thought it was a bit flat but i rented it out when it came out on DVD and i thought it was alot better than i thought at the cinema and a another class entry in the ST movie cannon

I enjoyed Nemesis even if it was too similar to Wrath Of Khan. Overall the best is Undiscovered Country. Worst is the Final Frontier, the humour, trying to capitalise on the comedy of Voyage Home was forced and unfunny. And whoever decided to skimp on the effects and drop ILM deserves to be sent to a Klingon Penal Moon.

I watched ST 5 the other week with Directors Commentary on and william shatner really loves this movie, hes saying it was ahead of its time story wise and that if it was released today it would have found a huge audience. i do like ST 5 though especially the bit where the shat is going on his rants about which direction hes gone in life, go shat go!
