for me its got to be snails. i took a girlfriend to a posh place (vineyard) many years ago and at the time had a good rep. the waitress came over with the menu ect and i didnt see anything on the starters i fancied so i asked what was on the specials board. escargo she replied, hmmmmmm ill have some of that i said. 15mins later she comes walking past us holding the food tray above her shoulders like they do ect,and as we was on a raised platform i could see what was on the plates. bleeeuggh i said to my girlfriend "some dirty bastards having snails". yes you guessed it they was plonked in front of me:uhoh: "excuse me, i asked for escargo"? yes luv escargo is french for (at this point it was all slow motion) SNAAAAAIIIILLLSSS. i nearly fainted. and to top it off she stood there and waited for me to try one,"are they alright sir" "no there shite" was my reply. i shoved the plate away and the greedy twat i took ate them as well?. after that it was the end. i mean how can you kiss a girl thats just eaten snails i ask yer. :uhoh:

Roasted bugs of some sort...caterpillars, maybe? Don't remember now. Did it in a "try anything once" moment. Did NOT chew them, mind. :nono: They went down whole.

Possibly a steak I had on my first holiday ever,in Spain. "How do you want your steak?" I like mine a bit bloody....originally. "Rare please". They must have thought I said RAW,because it came to the table whiter than Michael Jackson. Couldn't really take it back because I'd eaten most of it....till I got to the middle. It was fcuking jelly in the middle. So I gave it the labrador under the table. But he was looking a bit peaky after I paid the bill.:rip:

Goes well with chianti, I hear.

Little Caesar's "pizza".......or maybe the floor sweepings that they use for hot dogs. Can't forget all of the government standards of items such as rodent hair and insects in things like ketchup, chocolate, spinach, popcorn, etc.

When I wasn't a vegetarian, I ate a cheesesteak - or several of them. They're probably one of the worst things you can put into your body - fried chipped steak, with cheese and fried onions on a roll.

Chinese food when I had steph throat. Felt very bad going down.

One time I accidentally drank a cup of hydrogen peroxide. Now THAT was awful.

But in terms of eating, probably a several-years-past-the-expiration-date Pringle covered in mold, also by accident. Took my about 24 hours, six toothbrushings and a hell of a lot of water to get the taste out of my mouth.

LIVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hate that meat. tough, chewy, disgusting. never liked it never will.

In my local Chippy, a "liver dinner" (very popular) is on the board. But i get it without the liver. i.e chips gravy, mushy peas, which strangely enough is also mentioned further up the board, as errrr...chips, peas and gravy.

I was a 'hair's breadth' away from saying this myself!

I used to go out with a cyclist a few years ago and things downstairs... well... i'll leave it to your imagination!

I was in Marocco (spell) 30 years ago, and the hotel restaurant served "monkey brain". I refused to eat that.

And they also had "arabic meatballs" that tasted like shit. Still don't know what they were made of..

Nope, never ate it. Some friends went to Iceland recently, though, and told me about some of the traditional Viking foods. They didn't try them. :dead:

I too am a liver hater, as a kid i had to wait till everyone had left the dinner table then shove it in me pockets and go outside and give it to the dog. Just dont know how anyone can eat something that tastes that shit!!!!!Dogs like it but then they also like licking their own bollocks.

Liver is only tough and chewy if it's overcooked. It's very tender if it's cooked properly.

Now, the British meal I have a tough time with is kidney pie. I keep having to tell myself that kidney doesn't really have that flavor, that it's just like steak. But it's not just like steak, and it does have that flavor. :dead:

You mean steak and kidney pie?which is nectar by the way:nod: Kidney pie sounds a little heavy on kidney and short on beef, your right that said pie, would be a very scruffy feed indeed..But I've never seen a plain old kidney pie or flan or bake here?I mean, who would eat that ?Do you mean Kidney bean? they are nice in chilli con carne.Give it a whirl..And I double dare you to eat a pure kidney pie.Retchville:dead:

Yeah, steak and kidney pie. The steak bits are great, everything else is great, and then you bite into a piece of kidney. :barf:

My mother used to make oyster stew. Like clam chowder, but with oysters. Now mind, I used to enjoy the little smoked oysters they serve as hors d'oeuvres. But these oysters were different: big, nasty things that you had to chew through. The texture was all wrong-- too soft. Blecch! So I would do my best to chew as littl;e as possible. I did bite into a pearl once, though, so that turned out OK.
