I've been coughing for weeks now, and this morning I felt (and heard) a snap in my chest. Now I can hardly breathe because of the pain. And coughing gives me tears in my eyes.

I have probably a broken rib now.

And tips what to do? This is killing me.

Go to the hospital, or a doctor.

Ribs heal themselves usually-- the exception would be if it was a compound fracture. Generally, you just try not to move your rib until it heals. A complication in this healing process is when you sneeze or cough-- bloody hell that hurts!!! One thing you can do that will help is to wrap your ribs with a long, wide bandage-- wrap it around your chest several times, completely covering the area that's injured. The tightness of the bandage (not TOO tight) helps hold everything still so it can heal.

Thanks for the tip Comrade.

Talked to my doctor this morning, and she told me it was nothing she could do about it. It could be a broken rib, a injure on the lung, or the muscle. But she can't do anything about it.

Take painkillers, drink Cociliana (cough medic with morphine) and rest as much as you can. That's what she told me.

Cough, cough.....

I kid you not a girl at work was coughing for the whole of winter. her doctor could also not find any reason why this should have gone on for as long as it did. It could have something to do with this building. I got a sore throat here everyday in winter.
