Just back from the Franz gig at the Odyssey. They were awesome. Thanks to this and the Prodigy gig last night, I've probably done lasting damage, but fuck it.
Some girl was whingeing at me for moshing!!!!!!!!!!!! I asked her if she was a BSP fan, but she didn't get it.
The Rakes were shit, but Editors were great. I'm now going to check out their stuff.
Anyway, why do so many people hate the Franz? They rock.
i've been to see the editors a few times live they're pretty good. there albums not bad, i find it quite hit and miss though, i think blood or bullets are their best tracks and there early b-sides were good too.

i agree chris, they do rock regardless of the nice things they say about new order.
one of the few bands around that aint afraid to bash a guitar as well as their image.

going to see them on monday. was only gonna stay for rakes/editors and then leave, but if franz were good then I'll probably stay. only heard 1 rakes single, but editors seem quite good from what I've heard.
Editors are greeat. Franz are pretty good too. Something that's pretty decent that's guaranteed to be played on the dancefloor that is NOT Green Day is always a good thing.
just sat through Franz Ferdinand doing a set on Austin City Limits on the telly...I didn't realize they were as good as they were...
I reckon I'll have to dig out that CD of theirs that I purchased a while back...

I have nothing against them but I'm not really a fan.
I think the reason alot of people hate them is because they're overexposed and in your face 24/7 thanks to the music press. They're the musical equivilant of Little Britain, everyone annoyingly hums Take Me Out or quotes the lyrics. Most people would say it's not the band's fault they're overexposed which is untrue, record company PR doesn't come from nowhere.

At any rate, that reminds me, the Fire Engines CD was released this week, gotta go get that now.
The Franz gig at the Odyssey was brilliant, they just get better and better live. Editors were brill too, far better than their gig in the Limelight
