Where did you meet Barney? I remember that year. Watching NewOrderStory in a huge tent before the (most boring) World Cup final (ever) came on.
Can't remember much about the bill except The Fall and ACR playing early afternoon sets.

i am confused about something as usual.i was meant to go to a festival but it went bust and the promoters sent me tickets for reading instead because they were moving new order and gene to there.would that have been a phoenix festival ?

That's the one. NO were meant to make their comeback at the Phoenix Festival 98 but the organisers shelved it. Probably due to crap ticket sales or something. NO were blended into the Reading 98 line-up and the rest is history.
