24 hours pub in Britain?

most bars/clubs in chicago close at 3 or 4am unless they have special licensing for those that work 3rd shifts! these bars usually serve liquor at 8 in the morning! how nice is that? instead of a caffe americano at starbucks at 7:30am, a pint of guiness to get you going!!!

It's all media bollocks, this. Pubs can now be open for 24 hours provided they have applied for and been granted a license. Fewer than 1000 premises across England have been granted this extended license. Chances are that you won't just be able to stay in your local 24/7. Colleague of mine is the licensing law officer for his City Council. Of the 8 applications they received for opening hours extensions, two were for one extra hour (granted), one was for two extra hours (granted). The other 5 were rejected as being inappropriate. Just because the law allows opening up to 24 hours doesn't mean to say that either premises will be automatically able to stay open 24/7!

here in orlando you can't serve alcohol past 2 am, although the clubs and bars stay open until 3 or 4. ridiculous! in gainesville (where the univ. of florida is) you can buy beer and wine until 2 am, but hard liquor only until 11 pm...which means drunk students drive across the county border to buy liquor. what a thoughtful and safe idea that was.

depends where you are here as well. in some country towns the pubs wont let you in after 11, although they're open much longer. here its weird as well some botttle shops close at 8pm, while others seem to be open almost all night.
