Frankly, I was disappointed with the whole Janet Jackson thing at last year's Super Bowl. MTV obviously staged it for unnecessary sensationalism. I do agree that Europeans are more open to sex than the U.S. However, the Janet scandal is demoralizing to me.
I used to watch MTV a lot. I stopped it a few years ago because the station does not connect with me at all. I only watch it for the music, not for the saturated sex show as it is now.
I noticed that MTV does sexually suggestive commercials (like the pole dancing "Axe" commerical) in the afternoons rather than at late night. What's up with MTV?
VH1 is becoming more and more like MTV. Aside from my disappointment with their omission of JD/NO in the UK Music Hall of Fame, VH1 now plays more crap.
I'm tired of shows like my Super Sweet 16 or Dissed. I'm not prude, I just wish that a music station would be more honest with me.
I saw Janet's tittie and nearly threw up. It was grey like the tit of a Borg. She looks so much like Mike that the mere thought of her in a sexual way makes me want to stick a gun in my mouth and blow my brains out. Was it a big deal? No. I'd rather have tit flashes than sitcoms devoted to sexual inuendos. I really hate watching tv with my kids and having sexual situatiosn pop up on tv. At least with violence on tv they learn important lessons not taught in school--shotguns are deadly at close range but a high powered rifle is better for long range, never fire a bazooka in close quarters, make sure the bastard is dead before you turn your back and they call em wife beaters for a reason.

I live in Japan and I love that guy! I think he refers to himself as "Hard Gay" which I think is short for "hardcore gay" or something. He dresses like a mix between Rob Halford, the leather guy from the Village People and Depeche Mode(another one of my favourite bands) and he is extremely hilarious! I love him! (Although, because of the laws in Japan, genitals cannot be shown; they have to be blurred out, even in ordinary pornography.) Those yaoi books, depicting same-sex love between men are also available to minors, and most people start reading those when they are under 18. I am 18 right now, but I've been reading those since I was 13. Being gay isn't really an issue in Japan. Whilst gay marriage isn't being debated and there aren't too many openly gay celebrities, there was a female senator in Japan who recently came out as a lesbian, crossdressing, androgyny and gender-bending are prevalent in pop culture and you've got those yaoi books I was talking about. As a Depeche Mode fan(Yes, I also love them as well as New Order), it's nice to see men in leather.
I read that Paul Abbott is looking to make a US version of Shameless. Don't know how he'd do it unless it was really watered down, that show'd make HBO blush! :p
I don't know why people get so upset about nudity, or God forbid homosexuals on television. Far less disturbing than watching someone get blown to bits.
