Michael Fish: a cover-up?

UK readers might recall former (now retired) BBC weatherman Michael Fish. For some time I've had this nagging feeling that he's behind something quite extraordinary behind the scenes at the Beeb, not to mention slightly controversial.

During Fish's time at Television Centre, a good number of attractive, capable young female weather forecasters arrived and a large percentage of them gradually became pregnant. No sooner had a new, pretty face arrived on-screen then she'd receive a visit from the stork. I think Mr Fish was to blame!

Mikey Fish ran a casting couch system whereby only those lassies who came across with the goods got an on-screen job and he impregnated lots of them! Some threatened to go public with the scandal but the top brass quietly transferred them elsewhere and paid them off.

Right now, there are several little Fish swimming about out there and there's a bird on-air at the moment who is also up the duff so maybe the casting couch system wasn't scrapped when Fishy retired.

You see if I'm wrong! You wouldn't think of it to look at him!

One of his conquests?

N.B I am not seriously saying Mr Fish is at the root of the pregnancies at TV Centre. It's just a laugh in case he or his lawyers are reading this!

Actually it's all true. I've got a 5 year old fish called Billy. The CSA are still chasing him.

"....in fact a lady phoned the BBC today and said she'd heard women get preggers if you shag em, well you can relax...."

Circa 1987 (in case you need it spelled out)

I used to work for the Met office. I remember sitting next to some regional TV weather presenter in the canteen and overhearing him complain with some bitterness how 'you have to be gay to get on at the BBC'. Not sure how this fits in with this story. The Met wasn't exactly a hotbed of sexual shennanigans.
