Should I stay or should I go?

Christmas Eve will is supposedly my last working day with my current employers. After that I quit the UK and head off to Switzerland. But my Swiss job is only for three months, so after that I'll unemployed.

My current employers want me to go back after my stint in Switzerland, but the job and wages are shit. So do I never return to my current job and remain out of work (but keep my sanity?), go back to the current job after three months and hate it for the rest of my life, or do I become a tax exile in Switzerland?

See how you enjoy living in Switzerland first. You don't have to commit to returning yet do you? Maybe once you're there and you've got settled you can look at extending your visa.

Yeah I'd wait and see. You could really like Switzerland or miss the grey skies of home! If you come back to the UK though you should look for another job, if yours doesn't make you happy. Is it a contract type that you have to make a decision on now?

Easy to nip across various borders. Fabulous railway system. French and German areas of the country have quite a different vibe. The lakes are beautiful, and you can always escape to the mountains...

For those who were asking, I will be based in Winterthur (around 20 minutes outside of Zurich) in the German speaking part. I can speak German (although I haven't used it for a long time!) I'm sure it will all come back to me...

Anyhow, after the very shit day I have had at my soon-to-be old job, I am seriously thinking of never setting foot in the place ever again, ever

right now i'd settle for being back skivving in the call centre. Career wise, I sometimes feel I've had most of that already. Lived the rock and roll dream and was good at most of it except the schmoozing and industry crap, I really can't abide normal folks getting involved in bringing musicians down :) Then made lots of e heads happy on a strictly amusement and studio funding basis for a while. What's left to do? I'm still waiting on Frank Williams ringing me about that 2nd seat.

Talking shit on here is a better way to cure the problem.Better if you've got a laptop though.Just lie on the bed.Sitting at the desk isn't a good idea.
