I don't know if there was a poll of this type, but looking at the "addicted..."-thread I registered that I was the first poster, not being addicted to cigarettes. So does the common NO-fan smoke? I don't.

never smoked, never will
my bf used to smoke before we met, and slowly started smoking less. once we were officially together I got him to stop - mostly cuz I wouldn't smoke around me, and we hung out quite a bit.
then he discovered that when he didn't smoke during a night of drinking, the next morning he felt almost completely normal. ![]()
I'm the only person in my familly who has never started smoking.. they all quitted though.
I've tried, didn't find any attraction into that, in fact, the smoke just makes me uncumfortable...
In Canada next year, smoking will be banned in any public place, so in bars as well... can't believe I'd live the day that I'd come home from a day out without smelling like a pack of smoke ;)
I can go weeks without one, but when i have a drink and my friends are smoking i start twitching and have to have one. Thing is they make your hangovers ten times worse and i always regret it in the morning. Ugh!
Gave up just over 2 years ago after 20 years of between 5 and 20 a day. No patches, no gum, just determination.
That's what i did when i gave up last time! Seriously just stopped and didn't touch one again for two years. Oh well at least i managed 2 years!
I don't. I've inhaled my parents'smoke during all my youth and that's as much as I can bear. Now they're not even allowed to smoke in my house. When they come to my place they have to restrain themselves or smoke outside.
My mother caught me smoking when I was about 13 and she made me smoke nearly a whole pack of Marlboros...I haven't smoked since!

Oh, that's what it is! There's always one show off!:D Anyone got a light?
?
Ashamed to say, I have tried everything including determination, but I am a wimp and hate pain, so I am still a smoker......and, I enjoy it.:) However, I don't like the wrinkles, which long term are caused by smoking - well, that and living with Andy (that one was particularly for Sam) - I jest folks, I jest!
Smoking is a hard habit to overcome. I have friends and family members who have tried over and over to quit. I'm glad I didn't pick that habit up because God knows I have enough bad habits.

I gave up very well for over a month. Then did half a double dipped strawberry one night. DOH! doing even a teeny bit of acid is never good if you're trying to stay off the fags.
Still, that wont happen next time I try quiting, that was long ago.
My family used to be non-smoker, so do I.
And, cigarettes are so expensive… as I'm addicted to books (and records), I've made my choice !
It's funny - I've smoked a Cuban cigar (illegal in America), but never taken one drag from a cigarette.
Okay, so it's not that funny.
