Not including the release of Double Fantasy or the mourning after his death.

I think back to my days of college hanging out with hippies, freaks and punks. Never did anyone ever pull out one of John's solo lps. Sure they played alot of Beatles and other hippie crap but never a John Lennon lp. Some sick fuck may have dropped a dime in the jukebox for Give Peace A Chance but I never saw the vinyl of his lps.

The last time the I put voluntarily put on and album containing John Lennon's work that I actually owned, was about the same time TPK came out.

I can't understand why. Mates of mine come round and demand I put The Beatles whacked out stuff on and I always love it, but i'd NEVER press play myself. there is SO much music i'm that way with....it's almost like I deliberatly shut out strong influences that are contrary to my own inner tunes[1], which have their foundation in movie and TV music, and then on into NO (odd that NO make such telegenic music, there must surely be a connection).

John Lennon, with the exception of his choice of females (I'm really trying not to fantasize about moving that cunt's hand a few degrees and making the world a better place for TWO reasons, but it feels so good), was a a real genius, and I sometimes think I need that beaten into me :)

[1]I'm really sorry for sounding like a pretentious cunt, I can't think of a less wanky way to put it

Been a long, long time. After punk hit, my musical tastes changed. I watched the Cream reunion on TV the other night. I used to listen to them every day for years. Hour after hour after hour of Cream, every day, all through high school. Saw them the other night, and I could hardly care. So, yeah yeah yeah, my musical tatses have changed. But I still get a nostalgic rush with the songs from the Beatlemania period-- the first time I became aware of rock 'n' roll.

Sunday. In fact, every Sunday usually if we're not at work. It basically works like this......sit down for dinner around 6.30 radio on. Finish Dinner, on go the CD's - I get first choice cos I cooked the dinner. Second choice is 'he who must be obeyed' and everytime it's John Lennon first........although he has started playing Robbie 'I am a Superstar' Williams as well - how can the two be compared..........

John Lennon I like. Robbie.......... well, anyone wanting a ticket for Wembley - let me know!

I was listening to the "Lennon Collection" CD from '84 earlier this week, if that counts. His solo stuff is touch-and-go, of course.

I did also have a Beatles mix in the car when I first started driving it regularly about a week ago. :music: :car:

I always thought "The Mark David Chapmans" would make a great name for a agit-punk group.

Beatles lp don't count. Hell, I listened to Abbey Road daily until Wifey destroyed it along with our van. Greatest hits/collections do not count either, easy to pull corn from the turd, as any UN Feed The Children worker.
