Never appeared on TV but was just wondering if it's true that it makes you look like you ate all the pies?

It lets you see your own ass, you should NEVER see your own ass. TV cameras also have all sorts of bizzarre effects on scale and distance, increasing in severity with the level of zoom. That's why places you know, when seen on TV, often appear to be an almost dreamlike image of themselves, with streest shortened and stuff. I mean you don't think the Hangar straight at silverstone is 100yrs long and the cars do 35mph do ya :)

Sat courtside for a Blazers/Bulls (w/ Michael Jordan) game on a national NBC broadcast. I didn't cringe when viewing the tape afterward either.

It didn't make me look fat when I was on. The beer did that.

Yes, I was actually gonna mention that there's a fairly sound reason for why the likes of you and me may appear to be somewhat, shall we say "padded" on telly. And it aint got nothin to do with electronics.

I've never been on television for an extended amount of time thank God. I hate seeing pictures of myself too. When I went to college I thought I might want to be a news reporter but I couldn't stand being filmed. The first time I came to NYC I toured NBC studios and the guide said the reason cameras add weight is because of the camera lens is curved and the studios tend to be concave or something like that and it causes distortion.

If you are self conscious about this then stand next to a wide screen not a little tv.
