RIP - a comic genius

I remember him more from his movie roles than his stand-up, but I did catch the special he did after his infamous "fire" moment and was blown away. He influenced so many of my favorite comedians like Chris Rock, Dave Chappelle. He really broke down barriers that other comedians wouldn't dare.

He will be missed...

I believe any talent would love to have 'Blue collar' and 'Live in concert' on their resume , but only one did , just finished reading Pryor Convictions his biog and reccommend it as a good short read to both fans/non-fans

live on the sunset strip. the same live show where he talks about going to africa and realizing that he saw black people, brown people, white people--but he didn't see any 'niggers' anywhere, so he wasn't going to use that word anymore.

Yes, Live On The Sunset Strip is great, about the only movie that came along that made working in a theater bearable. Stir Crazy as well.

I realize See No Evil, Hear No Evil wasn't exactly a great movie, but it made me laugh out loud back in the day. I'm going to have to go and rent some of the better Wilder-Pryor films to get a better take on their partnership (if you ever read Gene's memoir, he talks about how they never really were "friends" necessarily off the set if only because of the people Richard ran with back then)
