English papers say he passed his medical for them on Saturday.

Exactly the sort of player they probably need. Although, in fairness, they've already bought a couple of thugs this year in Gravesen and Garcia (is it?) and that still hasn't worked out.

I wasn't really bothered if he ended up at Celtic Park or not. It would have been fun seeing Lennon and Keane running out at Ibrox in the hoops together though. There was no way we could have matched the wages he was commanding at ManYoo, and I'd rather any funds we have available are used to secure Stilian Petrov on a long term contract. I suppose having been suspended for the Champions League win in '99 he possibly see's joining Real Madrid as an opportunity to win another European Cup.

Petrov is far too good a player to be playing in the SPL IMO.

wherever he goes i just think he'll cause trouble now and argue with managers etc, hes well passed his best and if Madrid or whoever pay him 90k a week still ,they're nuts hes fucking 34.

Mind you West 'am we're all up paying that according to Pardew

Sheesh.. did they actually won anything with all those players yet?

In Hockey, we have the New York Rangers, who did buy all big free agents over the last 10 years, but never managed to make the playoffs due to too many egos in the locker room.

As we say in here.. too many chiefs, not enough indians..
