I'm the worst doorman in history....many of our self op gigs were "all hands to the pumps" so if I wasn't needed on stage or behind the mixer....out the front with the cash box it was.

All anyone had to do was convince me they wre conpletely skint or only had enough for like one drink and as long as the bills were covered I let them in free. Even blokes BTW before anyone starts...although I admit they were disadvangtaged by my "means testing points system" awarding huge numbers of points for being delicious.

I was always the sort of warmheart to pass out free tickets to those who just looked real miserable not to be getting in. Every band I worked with hated and loved that about me. They couldn't complain to a packed house (even if they couldn't play) but they didn't like getting half a dollar each for 2 hours work.

Defo prefer a full house and empty pockets. Besides, had you (or I) NOT been a sweetie thay'd have the same money AND have died a death on stage.
