I love xmas most years ( I never do a half hearted thing...I decide before hand if I'm scrooge or not)...like giving stuff to people, and Tv's a pile of bullspunk-left-in-the-sun the other 364 days, so who cares.

the drinking is damaging, but Jemma's problem is that she's tying to ignore nature's warning (the way it turns up the volume on hangoevers each year from 25 on. I'd really LOVE to go on an alimighty xmas bender, purely because it's been so long since I achieved booze-nirvana.

Drinking comp, drinking comp (yay - bring it on)

I am a professional drinker. Even George Best would have struggled with a two week solid session, i'm not talking much food here either.

I love Christmas because I fancy carols! I already whistle Eine Schwarzwaldfahrt and sing White Christmas!

I'll give you that, the carols are (usually) fantastic.

i hate all those christmas songs done by popular performers, like i'm coming home for christmas, that they play in all the shopping centres. today we had our work christmas lunch, and we got played at crappy cover versions of all those songs. i'm still in recovery mode from that.

it probably is.

carols by candelight is probably the only oz innovation to christmas. it's very popular, so called stars sing carols on a stage, and the audience sings along holding candles. the two big ones in sydney and melbourne are televised.
