Things the net does that just make you go "huh?" or "wow!"

Example..... I have my mail client checking for mail every 2 mins. But I almost always get mail from NOOLers when I flick the program up front and do a manual check. Not so odd, except that occassionally, for instance Maya and I would idly trade bullshit over mail like it was an IM program.....yet her mails always arrive on the manual check.

Oh and is it only MY IM client that transfers the keyboard focus to any new window it opens? I've come very close to getting locked up for being mental because of that....people who barely know me try to say hi and get a whole page of gibberish about MIDI or New Order or Linux (worse is if it's me mate shaun who's an aerodynamics-dude from country cavan....anyone who catches a snippet of one of my chats with him would think my dog had typed it)

Internet oddities

Odd accounts for 99% of my online activities. Narrowing down to one is like asking a bartender to serve only one kind of beer.

There are chat sessions that in entirety invlove threeway calling on the phone and simultaneous IRC-ing, and the result is our logs for IRC are a bunch of half-stated puns and smilies, and no one can ever remember what exactly we were going on about.
