this is a long time beef of mine. It always seems to be the things that I want to see that get shagged for sport. When BBC2 was stil the place to be at teatime.....any old shite with a ball and some grass would replace the much loved regular televisual accompanyment to yer evening meal.

Actually Grass isn't required cos indoor bowls and snooker....oh and you don't need a bal cos of darts and fucking horse-dancing.

Luck of the draw? No...that's balls. Because....I almost NEVER enjoy the replacements. So I am being cost something that's not being replaced....and it COULD be.

And this (good fucking god) is my point... The TV people spend fucking millions every year on audience surveys, market research and demographic studies....they KNOW the precise make up of the audice for say...Wimbledon. SURELY they can then at what other programs those people watch, and fuck them out of the schedule so that the shows that were bumped for the sport can afterwards...

stupid example as I don't have the figuresss..

Dressage thing on, let's say Dr Who get's taken off for it. If people who watch Dressage also wtach Gardeners world, take it out of the schedule later so that the Doc can run after the horses.

I'm not tremendously eloquent at explaining this in text it seems...but hopefully you get the plan.

OR just wait til the BBC has no sport and fuck all worth seeing for it to replace even if it did.

I was actually gonna start a topic about Top Gear a while ago, but then I forgot it completely. Good to see someone else did. Top Gear is such good entertainment even if your're not into sports cars. I like how Jeremy and the two younger presenters Richard and James get so competitive. You can't quite tell if they get along well or hate each others guts.

Like on the episode Richard went to the Bull run of Pamplona and some fuckwit pushed him towards an approaching bull and Jeremy told he would like to get in touch with this person - to give him some money.

Mr Clarkson may seem like a knobhead on occasion, but he is very entertaining. I read his book The World According to Clarkson on the plane on my way home from the Brixton gig. It's basically his columns from the Sunday Times. Some were hilarious and some where not funny at all.

I can understand your fustration. i'm watching it for the second time ever. it is tops. in the current super car segment that i'm watching, there are plenty of New Order snippets too.

There's a load of good music, much of it from my fave bands on it. Has been since even before the new format. I dunno there just must be one severely cool music editor at the beeb.

Although it goes against every gut instinct of mine (rugby shirt wearing, climate change denying, right wing petrolheads), I have to admit, TopGear is a favourite of mine – comedy aside, probably the only thing on telly I regularly watch.

I find it hard to hate Clarskon. He just seems to enjoy being a hate figure for wet/feminist/environmental/liberal left.
