OK i bought my computer and printer through Dell. in this country they don't have any shops, and do all retail through the net.

has anybody had bad experiences with Dell? for more than 3 weeks i have been trying to return my broken printer. first i stayed home all day to get my replacement printer. no call no card that the courier had turned up, so i ring them up, and they tell me they left it at the local post office. so i had to go down there the next day.

then i've been trying for them to pick up my broken printer. first they didn't include a return consignment bag, so i had to get another one sent out. I then arrenged for a pickup at work but for some reason the courier always called there after work hours.

then i ring up dell and they tell me to just take it to the post office. i go down there, and they tell me they won't take it, as they don't want it hanging around all day long until the courier turns up.

today i'm staying home all day long, yes i have arranged for another pickup. i won't even venture into the garden, and play any loud music. i just want ot get rid of the bl**dy thing.

this whole experience almost puts me off this whole internet shopping experience.

Building them's easy....getting them to do anything useful is the hard bit.

Can I just point out.....

WHY FUCKING BOTHER. it's THEIR printer....if they want it....let them do the stress....if you forget about it so will they. fuck it.

My old, but not that old PC, had a virus too. It managed to wipe everything - and I really do mean EVERYTHING! from it's own memory! Cracking. I have so enjoyed losing 3 yrs worth of correspondence, contacts, invoices, and more importantly, music..... it's been just swell! Problem is, most of the stuff saved onto disc, was also 'infected'. Super duper.

But linux is So hard, and windows is so easy.

FOOLS you're all FUCKING FOOOOOOOOLS!

advice for all of you..... ignore anything told to you by someone selling your software. ask people who know. use the right tings, and even that horror story windows can be sort of tolerable ...ish.....if you're kinda mellow by nature.

Not turnning this into OS wars...."mine's better than yours". Your's dear winlusers...is THE worst...you have to be totally on the ball with it, do NOT believe the "WIN-SNAKE-OIL-XP" claims that it "MAGICALLY" sorts stuff out. IF you treat windosw like the pre-pubescent autistic megalomaniac it truly is....you'll be fine. Believe the "OUR PC'S KICK VIRUSES (actually it's viri, but who ever let the English language bother marketing eh?) IN THE GOOLIES AND STOP PEOPLE STEALING YOUR BANK DETAILS"....adn you will be boned.

here endeth the sermon. Wino...thought there were men in that house? no geeks?

Only chicks CARE about ironing :D

Chick sees you in an ironed shirt she suspects you already have a woman (on the whole, a good thing, I suppse, given the female need to "have what she's having") Bloke sees you in an unironed shirt he wont even notice :)
