Nice one, lost my copy of that somewhere along the line.
It was utterly amazing to watch that live, starting with the fact no one could actually believe that Uncle Dick was gonna have Johnny on in the first place, and then to play a song as dark as Poptones where we usually got something like the latest Bee Gees song....well, it was priceless.
It took American punk bands Fear and The Replacements on Saturday Night Live a bit later to largely put the kibosh on US punk acts on national television
Oh, forgot to add to note that a DVD set of punk/alternative acts that appeared on the Tom Snyder/Tomorrow show in the early 80s will soon be out. All I can remember of Tom's "interview" with Johnny and Keith Levene is his line "It's unfortunate that we're all out of line with you".
