Never thought Peter Jackson could top Lord Of The Rings,but he has.It's a bloody masterpiece.Took my Julie's young 'un in to see it...and ..err..we were both traumatised coming out of the pictures.From the man who laughed at Little House On THe Prairie!
yep i went to see it, not a big fan of peter jackson, think i was in the minority who found lord of the rings trilogy boring, same goes for king kong i'm afraid, way too long, no story...good special effects though.
I was in awe throughout it! The bits they could have trimmed maybe,were the bits with Jamie Bell on the boat,seemed a bit pointless when they sort of dumped everyone when they got back to New York. But it was three and a half hours I could have sat though again.
I could list all the things that make KK great.The way New York circa '30s is recreated,the casting,the KK vs T-rex face off,the climactic dogfight over Empire State Building,the dinosaur chase,the bugs!!
But the thing that will affect you is Kong.His mannerisms and his bond with Naomi/Ann.So much that by the finale..well..
it did take a little while to get started, but i did enjoy it once it got going and i loved the nod to dead alive and the rat monkey

He's come a long way from Braindead and Bad Taste. If you ever see a copy of Meet The Feebles,got to watch it.Imagine the Muppet Show done by the South Park team.
I just don't know... why the hell would I want to see a 3rd King Kong movie? 
Might be better, but I didn't like neither of them... so I'm not convinced...

I love Peter Jacksons "The Frighteners" as well as "Dead Alive". The last movie featuring Michael J. Fox . And it features my personal horror-movie-god Jeffrey Combs in one of his best characters (besides the Re-Animator).

Best Peter Jackson movie by a mile. A masterpiece.

I think jackson has spent all this time and effort on these glorious epics, just so he can make "bad taste II" on a billion dollar budget and have instant worldwide access. Go PJ!

I ADORE that guy, he kept me watching Star Trek when I had lost all interest in it's new soap opera/softcore porn format....any episode he appeared in, I watched :D

I love him ever since I watched "Re-Animator" for the first time. And he made me watching Deep Space Nine, too. This guy is marvellous and he is like a chameleon. He looks different in almost every role he is playing...
going to see KK at FACT Arts & Technology centre in Liverpool tomorrow night. 8 O'clock kick off
always loved Kong, even the much maligned one with Jessica whatshername and whatshisname Bridges.
i again saw the original one not that long ago on the telly. i think that will do me for a while. if it is more or less the same story why does the new one have to go for double the lenght. although i may be yet persuaded to go and see it.
I enjoyed it - probably because I'd never seen the full verisons of the other makes of it before. I can't say "best movie ever" but definitely worth paying the money to see it in the theater (which is actually saying a lot these days).

Another film from that era Combs starred in was FROM BEYOND,gloriously over the top brain eating finger licking GORE!!
bored shitless till the monkey showed up,then the film rocketed along as if to say to itself,oh weve only got another 90mins left. 6/10.
