i think texas needs a governor named 'kinky.'

yes we've heard of him out here. what party is he running for? on the surface you would think he has good a chance as any other clebrity. he probably has zero chance if he runs as an independent.

you say but as if these are two opposite views. freedom from government intrusion is freedom from government intrusion no matter what issue it's surrounding. :D

I hate the erroneous oversimplification of politics, especially civil liberties, to "conservative/liberal" when it gets to the point that it's somehow an anomaly to support gun ownership and gay marriage.

It makes perfect sense to me and I don't agree with 2nd amendment yahoos. It should make perfect sense to anyone who has more than a cursory understanding of the US political system and the constitution.

Can he win? Not so much. Should he win? Oh, it might be worth it for a few laughs. Heck, we almost elected Clayton Williams and we did elect Ann Richards. Besides, the real power in Texas resides with the Lt. Governor and the house Speaker.

Many state constitutions more clearly define the rights of individuals to keep and bear arms.
