It really sounds like Joy Division. I've heard the song Tear You Apart often on XM Radio and just fall in love with it.

they sound like a cross between the killers and depeche mode. it's pretty good... look for them on the bit torrents...

I actually interviewed SWR's singer, Justin, for my school's newspaper. I went to their site and listened to "Sister," one of the singles up there. The vocals sound like Joy Division and the instrumentation sounds like a mix of Depeche Mode, circa 1984, and early Cure. He said during the interview that they are also influenced by late '80s- early '90s hip hop, but I honestly didn't hear any of that in what I heard. Still, they do sound much better than some of these new "retro" bands.

they sound very plastic and contrived. The lyrics are seriously lacking and the whole thing comes across as bad acting. I have enjoyed it a few times, though. Nothing new or inspiring here but something to take the place of Interpol for awhile.

i would pretty much agree that it's all a bit too manufactured. these guys aren't even musicians but DJs.

The singer started out as a DJ, but the other guy, Adam 12, plays bass, although no where near as good as Hooky.

It was on sale at Best Buy. WTF?? Reminds me of a more melodic Interpol. Not too bad. Obvious New Order homage with Hooky like bass and recorded at Perfect Kiss Studios.

I watched a couple of videos on their site and was not impressed. If they are the buzz of 2006 it's going to be a weak year for music.

Aries your under the comment italic is soo cool and definitely underground and definitely not crap. couldn't agree more- for 06- if 1/2 -of the bands were to at least learn how to play, maybe hold a tune or spin a tale.

Went to the record store today and listened to the group in one of the listening booths. Killer stuff!

Sister is my fave track after listening to it a few times. SWR suffers from the Interpol issue of one chord and Mr Tom vocals.
