Based on the news story, I hope he gets well. It doesn't change the fact that he will be in line after Reagan, though.
Has to be known as the clumsiest president ever, falling down the steps as he was getting off Air Force One and hitting someone on the head with a golf ball. I think there are other moments too.
Yeah, the story says that Gerry is expected to recover (which is good, because contrary to previous posts I only wish misfortune on current Republican presidents
)

I saw Ford's klutzy moments on "Presidential Bloopers" in my high school civics class. ![]()

Did it say what he's in for? Fell off a ladder? Forgot to duck?-- oops, sorry, that was another puppet playing Prez-- Swallowed a pretzel?
My bad, still another puppet playing Prez. ![]()
He may have been trying to get out of his seat when he realized Brokeback Mountain wasn't his kind of Western :p
The sad thing is, when Chevy Chase did his Gerald Ford impersonations in the mid-Seventies, he looked nothing like him. Now...it's almost like they're balding twins ![]()

Good insight, Tabs!
i don't think he will be to soerly missed whe the inevitable does eventually happen. i do love that simpsons episode where he and homer become neighbours and friends as he is just as big an oaf as homer.
I hope he recovers. never heard anyone bitch about him except for the pardon. However, he was never elected POTUS.

Ford: "Do you like football?"
Homer: "Yes!"
Ford: "Do you like beer?"
Homer: "Yes!"
Ford: "Would you like to come over to my house and watch football and drink beer?"
Homer: "Would I?"
(not sure if that's the exact quote, but pretty damn close)
Good episode.
I remember as a kid I went with my father to an archeological meeting on some college campus and I found the school newspaper. There was a quote on it calling Ford "Nixon in a mask."
