What IS love anyway??? Everyone has their own definition! Is it the beating of your heart when you see that 'someone'; is it the knowing what that someone is going to say before they say it....is it going around Tesco and picking up what you know they like/need?.......or is it just that YOU know that they love YOU? And can you tell that person absolutely - and I do mean absolutely - everything? If the answer to all the above is yes, then you are well and truly in love with someone. If it's not, you're not. If you're just comfortable with someone and think you cant live without them, but none of the above apply, then maybe you need to reassess why you fell in love in the first place!

I've been reading the love poets tonight, so..........

Love means never having to say "I'm sorry...I'll pay for the dry cleaning" :evil4:

love is one of these things. you can not help who you fall in love with. when you are in love the other person is perfect. obviously nobody is perfect. heck what i'm trying to say love is that being in love is never wrong.

just don't fall for some psycho nutcase who abuses you. or you fall victim to a stalker. don't laugh i had one. it was a lady a few years older than me who i once worked with. and yes don't let love turn you into a stalker. if the other person does not reciprocate then well either give them time and space, or move on.

so i guess i've just proved my own argument wrong, yes you can fall in love with the wrong person. it however is a wonderful feeling.

I don't fall in love, because I know any one I would happen to fall in love with would not love me back. That's just how it works for me. Anyone who I was moderately interested in as a teen - and they did seem interested in me at some points - just either disappeared or lost interest because I'm a boring bastard. I just figure love is just going to be elusive.

It's one thing to fall in love...it's quite another to tell that person that you love how you feel

It's also not much fun to hear the girl you love go on and on about how much of a jerk her new boyfriend is (as I found out today). :nonono:

I was trying to have a decent ham and cheese sandwich lunch by myself and was joined by a fellow coworker who also has troubles with the ladies, and finally by the girl I really like. She went on and on about how much of a jerk her boyfriend is, and after a while I just got up and left. I'm not proud of moments like that where I get super-pissed and just walk away, but I figured better to do that then say something I might regret. :banghead:

to crystallise my earlier statement, you may not be able to help who you fall in love with, but you can not force that person to love you.

I hate when girls do that, too. Every girl I've been friends with always talks about her boyfriend problems with me. I just want to tell her, "If you don't like him, just break up. It's that easy." Or, "What do you expect me to know? I've never had a boyfriend."

Or "I'm sorry, since when am I the Oracle at Delphi?" (just to mess with 'em a bit if they don't know their mythology) :p

I like this girl immensely, but if she thinks I want to sit there and listen to her complain about her boyfriend problems she is slightly mental. Life is too short

well she trusts you enough to share her problems with you. the next time you could perhaps drop a few hints, like " if he such a bastard why don't you drop him etc."

That doesn't work. She usually says that she "loves him" nevertheless.

yes i know what you guys mean. some girls are like that. they share their problems with you because they don't consider you a threat. it has happened to me more than once as well. it is not nice when they only want to share their problems and not the good times. i still say it is a start, and give it a shot. who knows you may becaome good friends and from there things could eventualy progress. then again if she is too hung up about about that bloke, then move on, and don't worry about her. as i said you can not force the other person to love you.

the last two girls with whom i had a chance both ended up marrying farmers. the first on said she would never end up with a farmer, and now she is bored shitles on that farm, as she is no longer teaching. the second said she was perfectly happy being single and marriage was the last thing on her mind. so no matter what they say, you can never tell. anway they are great girls and we are still mates.
