His name is Stephen Harper, And he is from my city of Calgary. I wont get into this to much as most Canadians here are from the East and mostly not happy. But the good news for everybody is its a minority government, so nobody is going to get away with much, And good News for Americans is Stephen Harper and his Tory party have better relations then the last PM did, so we should get along better now. (Of course Canada can kiss their fresh water goodbye, as Americana is going to take it.) Sorry for Nic and the rest of Qubecers as their BQ party lost seats (Maybe you can leave Canada next Election?)

Actually we lost the prime minister and 6 of his ministers... they were all from Montreal!

Now, this means there will be no minister AT ALL from Montreal AND Toronto... that might actually be an issue.

And well, the BQ did lose 2 seats, but to be honest, it managed to win several seats they couldn't even dream of winning before.

Now the big question is how the hell conservative managed to win that many seats in the Quebec City area... that is a total mystery... I must admit that Mr Harper did include so many elements for Quebec in his programm (most of them were what the BQ asked for years) that it's not really a surprise...

I'd love to remind everybody that there is NO Tory party at all in the provincial level in the province of Quebec, despite the fact that our prime minister is the formet tory federal leader...

For people wanting to know...

Dark blue is Conservative (Tory), red is Liberal, Light Blue is Bloc Quebecois (Party for Quebec's independance), Orange is New Democratic Party.

Conservative = Right Liberal = Center/Left Bloc Quebecois = Left New Democratic Party = Left

Good news for Republicans-- not the same thing as good news for Americans.

it seems like conservatives were more influenced by the American's policy - I think of this straight borderline between the two countries... Are these regions more involved in the American economy ?

Alberta (check the big blue part at the west ;) ) is the #1 provider of oil for the USA....

Any other question? :D

Phew, nearly bust a gut on that one. If that ever actually happens, I'll even vote for that guy. I don't know how Conservatives work elsewhere, but ours like to download to other levels of government to give you breaks at higher levels. Next thing you know your property taxes are through the roof and you still have no services. Anyone from Ontario should know, we're gonna be suffering from Harris's BS for a looooonnnnng time.
