Has anyone got the list so I can have a good laugh? I wouldn't be surprised if they put Arctic Monkeys as number one and filled the list with other crappy bands that they champion. But it did mention JD on the cover so there could be some good in the list.

I had a flick through it whilst i was in Tescos earlier. But the mag is obviously turning into Q magazine. They've run out of ideas and are turning to "Top 100" lists to fill the bog paper
managed a quick flick through myself. stone roses was number 1.should have been queen is dead - smiths, but that was number 2. technique was around number 20.i didnt see any old punk/new wave albums which is surprising because NME reckoned they were supporters of punk back in those days

Pick yer own top 100
Would you, Mike?
He would, but his list won't have any Cure, Pet Shop Boys, the Smiths, or Depeche Mode on it. Luckily, it won't have Oasis either. Probably just live New Order songs - not that is necessarily a bad thing, but a list needs variety.

All I am saying is any Top 100 is subjective, and an opinion of the people who created it.
I don't need to know what a crap music paper reckons is the Top 100 Albums, I can make my own choice.
Obviously if people need to be told what to like that is fine too.
As for Cure Depeche etc, each to their own, but this was a New Order site the last time I looked, let's keep it that way ![]()
their top ten
- The Stone Roses 'The Stone Roses'
- The Smiths 'The Queen Is Dead'
- Oasis 'Definitely Maybe'
- Sex Pistols 'Never Mind The Bollocks'
- Arctic Monkeys 'Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not'
- Blur 'Modern Life Is Rubbish'
- Pulp 'Different Class'
- The Clash 'London Calling'
- The Beatles 'Revolver'
- The Libertines 'Up The Bracket'
utter shite! arctic monkeys no 5 best british album ever? get real, do this again next year & it wont be top 50.
These lists are just for people who like to think they're at the cutting edge of popular music to use to fill out their CD collections... (Although I do own five of that top 10...) and then feel smug that their taste has been validated by their music bible... I don't suppose Unholy Soul by the Orchids was anywhere in there then... Shame, cos I would have felt well smug...

I own a grand total of one. Several of those albums's barely scrape into the category of 'music', let alone 'good music'...

How Editors did it their way?
Preston on CBB.
Razorlight.
And top 100 producers.
After that, it's top 100 articles printed in NME.![]()
Well . . you know you are on the right track, when you have none of their top 10 in your collection:D
I quite like The Stone Roses' self titled. And I have Revolver but I haven't listened to it yet.
I own that Smiths album, but quite frankly, NO's Substance, Technique, and Low-life are better albums, in my opinion.
