we have this on the notice board at work. i actually stopped going there because it is full of metal heads. but they have a good thread. very easy concept almost the same as the what are you listening to thread except that it is in the car.

i'll start it off, and i'm afraid my answer will probably be new order singles disc one or two for some time to come.

So many choices to be made before work.

What shirt and tie - takes about five seconds to decide

What to listen to in the car - takes bloody ages to decide

Today I'll probably bring New Order's Singles comp. I do really like that Gorecki Symphony mentioned by Steve, but it builds up so slowly I wouldn't hear a note before I reach the office.

I've got a couple of "general use" compilations I've made for the car, on both tape and cd. Just usually rummage in my glovebox and pick one at random.

Yesterday I wound up listening to a New Year's A-Z (not all of it) from 1994. That was really funny to put in.

Flicking through the stations

  1. Radio One
  2. Galaxy FM
  3. Smooth FM
  4. Rock FM
  5. Key 103
  6. Radio Two

Then put a cd on (i've got about 20 in my car).

I would rather listen to chat in a morning though.

Today on the way to/from work, had Siberia (just about enough time to listen to most of an album by the time I get home)! Tomorrow will be the compilation I am about to burn to disc in readiness for the M62 on Saturday..(have to make sure it is ok)!

In the last two days, it's been Talking Heads Fear Of Music new reissue, some Dean Martin, Camper Van Beethoven, the Fire Engines Codex album, and Wyclef Jean's Preacher's Son.

It takes usually 13 mins to get to my work. And I tried to make it within Blue Monday's duration. I did it, at 75-85 mph.
