Obviously, they're supposed to keep your food fresh but mine has been freezing my food recently. And, no, I didn't put my food in the freezer. Thursday night, I wanted to make a salad for dinner and when I took out a tomato and some lettuce, both were frozen. The lettuce was covered with ice and the tomatoes were like snow balls. Last night, I wanted to make ravioli, except for that the red sauce had frozen to a block of ice in the jar. My roommate also has oranges at the bottom that are like rocks. I've tried defrosting the food in a microwave. It worked for the rest sauce, but not for the tomatoes. I haven't attempted an orange yet.
Now, I know refrigerators aren't supposed to do this. My mother's refrigerator, from the late '70s, gets ice at the back and top when not cleaned out enough but it doesn't freeze your food. Can any of you help me? I can't afford to be wasting food because it freezes.
