LOL
RESPECT to the NESS :D Very fetching.
I'll be clear here tho.... I'd have gladly worn such daft headgear too :D
I never saw that hat Ness, I thought I was the only one sporting cool headgear. You kept that quiet later on ![]()

I thought it was already clear :)
still don't see any incompatibility in being both frankly. Viking= hardcore NO addict Angel= delusionsal fancying of Barney.
Maybe I missed a meeting. (other than Sat before one of you wiseasses pipes up with it :D )

Indeed, why isn't this thread called "Two Vikings"?!
Or "Little Viking, Big Viking!"?

Or I wonder what a Viking looks like in a pink badge? thread. 'A Viking membership point'? Do you have to fill in a membership form and/or be recommended/seconded etc. Sounds like the bloody Masonic Lodge to me. Mind you, it would account for some of the attire. FCS Everyone needs to lighten up on this......... it's a badge....it's a joke!

Er, bit harsh, Wino. And that appears to have been aimed at me as well.
Are you gonna explain the attire comment?!

Why - are you a Grandmaster? (You know, funny apron, secret book, chains that kinda thing?) If you are a member of the lodge a) put your trouser leg straight, it looks funny and b) I apologise - unreservedly. If not, how exactly is it aimed at you? I didn't see you wearing a highly colourful shirt & shorts!
How is that harsh? It's just childish.

Look further up the page, Wino. You quoted my mail when writing your comments. In anyone's books, that's in direct response to my comments ... er, surely?!
Er, and, nope, I didn't wear a bright shirt and shorts. You'll have to give me time to look up the correct attire section in our rulebook which says all Vikings dress as such. I've obviously not memoried me runes properly and should immediately sacrifice a crow at the well of Mimir to make amends.
And Christopher Owens using Missy Jem in his avatar is one thing ... there's no need for you to go and put me in yours!! ![]()

Spoilsport.
Maybe I should have just quoted the membership bit - that was the part I was trying to comment on, but was obviously too idle to pinpoint that one line. *must try harder........
Have you managed to look at your rulebook yet? I was just wondering if there was a particular rule that states you must take everything seriously, even when it was intended to be 'playful' and whether you have to laugh and be smug when it backfires on the culprit?:)

You mean rule 33.66.2.2: Clause 8, Sub Clause 4, Paragraph 8?
What about it?

Yes. You are male. It avoids confrontation with females. It works - especially with the face behind the newspaper routine....:)

Now, now, Wino. The Vikings are made of much sterner stuff than that! ;)
I leave all that running scared of women stuff to Cambo! ![]()
Wino wrote: It avoids confrontation with females.
There's a difference between confrontation with females over real issues and responding to passive aggression. The old 'I was only joking' routine is a manifestation of a response that appears in 80% of boy-girl arguments.
The passive aggressor provokes a reaction then appears to withdraw the provocation by apology, retraction or to a more benign suggestion (such as 'I was only joking'). The intention is to make the other party appear foolish in order to further the passive aggressor’s aims.
Although most men think that women are the masters in this technique, and vice versa, both sexes are equally able to employ it (or in most cases, unable not to), and most arguments have elements of this behaviour on both sides.
For your homework, I want you to go home and think about what you’ve learned today. Tomorrow I want you all to give me an example of how someone has used passive aggressive techniques on you, and how you have used them on someone else.
I’m going to get drunk and try to get my leg over now. See you all tomorrow.

Whoah! I thought you had, um, Fradders stopping at yours!
Fcuk it, do what you want to him. He won't remember in the morning.
It'd serve him right for last time you were out. ![]()
me and ourkid got our badges thru the post today , very fine they are too . A string of convictions between us means our only experience of masonry to date has been less than thrilling. However , BIGinOILs local nick did put us up after a Big Audio Dynamite gig, for a very reasonable caution instead of a fine . No rolled up trooser legs were involved . Thanks to wee Shuglet for the postal service , Jarvo and Col for casting the runes:D

I never ever managed to get my homework in on time.......which probably accounts for a lot.... However, I have learned lots today, but as a female, I've decided to keep it to myself and use it against you at another time.:) I could give you an example too of passive aggression, but it will put you off getting your leg over.....fair?![]()

Actually it was a refference to the war of the worlds ( always a good guess if I make an obscure quote and call for recognition)

War of the Worlds eh? The plot thickens.
dont read too much into it.... I only envoked the image as one of hiding in deep terror from a strange and terrible death.
Not trying to say yer a bear-sied lump of brain with 16 tentacles, a beak and a penchant for travelling vua multilimbed vehicles. Although in fairness....who HASN'T wanted to burn and gas their way accross london and the home counties :D

I was thinking book not musical FWIW. Anyone who even THOUGHT FOR AN ATTOSECOND that I meant the recen rape of this story by the chief sucker of satan's cock.... just don't ever try to tell me that.
The chances of me thinking anything like that are a million to one......he said![]()
You feel strongly about Wellsy's original tale over our Jeff's...They are bringing a stage show out you know....you can bitch like fuck about it! :D They are really.
I don;t mind it actually. It captures the sheer terror and gap in capabilities in a way no visual attempt has come close too....and even I who has read the book far too often still read the calls of the martians to one another as they are on the album. Not too sure about the stage show, BUT there is to be an animated movie based on it as well....and having heard the ought takes....there is an astonig amount of dialougue from Burton and Essex that was not used, much of it directly from the book, that could surely be used in the movie.
Must see how that's coming along actually.
And even the album can raise a tear if i read the book too recently..... "On the landward horizon, appeared the silhouette of a fighting machine, another came, and another, striding over hills and trees, plungin far out to sea and blocking the exit of the steamer. Between them, lay the silent, grey Ironclad, Thunderchild, slowly it moved towards shore, then with a deafening roar and whoosh of spray she swung about, and drove at full speed towards the waiting martians"
Chokes me up just typing it, cos pale imitation tho it is, it mirrors the first and greatest act of all sci-fi heroism :D
Boatraceface wrote: sure Steve sure...but Richard Burton's voice is better than all these things :D
"No one would have believed" SOLD!
