Fair Do.Done some top songs but the Roses classics weren't solely his efforts, obviously. And he hasn't really been around relatively long enough to achieve that award IMO.

Top geezer and top songs though

I agree with Johnny, But I seen him live a couple of years ago supporting the Mancs, and I thought he was pish live.

yes, but WTF do you know about it?

I must admit, as the minor contributor to the stone roses, and a hit and miss solo career, i dont think he deserves it.

I have the same feelings as that about The Cult reforming

Do you have this little obsession with me, where everytime I post something you disagree with, you jump on and start bitching?

Should've given it to the Roses en masse, considering how popular that first album is today.

Not fussed by Brown whatsoever, but then I don't know his solo material that well.

His solo stuff's excellent. But isn't a certain Stephen Patrick not a liitle more deserving?

Oh yes! But Mozzer was hyped in the NME in 2004, so this year is the turn of Ian Brown.

I don't have all Ian Brown's stuff .But what i do have i mostly like. Some of it's shit.I just think it's way too early to give him the Godlike award.Another 10 years time would have been more reasonable.Providing he kept up the quality

if ian brown is a godlike genius then george bush is a humanitarian. ok hes done a few and i mean a few decent tunes but cmon, and to top it off he looks so much like a chimp he should wear a fez and tiny waiscoat and jump around with a cup in his hand. just goes to show how far the nme has slunked, wouldnt wipe my arse on it.

maybe not a godlike genius yet, but he has done some cracking stuff - FEAR, Gravy Train, Northern Lights, Set My Baby Free, to name just a few
