Fook all else I can do a bollocks thread on tonight so thought I'd do one about ye olde humble coffee bean bevvy.

How do you like it? Average Joe variety? One of those superduper Gloria Jeans or Starbucks specials or a supermarket choc mocha like mine? Or do ye regard it as unwholesome as Promite???

P prefer mine from the local bean roaster but hell, I'll even drink the gas station sludge if need be! Must. Have. It. From the time I get up - usually 12:30 pm - till around 9:00 pm.

i'm having red wine right now. had half a bottle, as i'm not sure i want to face tomorrow.

as for coffee i usually have nescafe, although i do also have the real stuff and a percolator. i very seldomly actually buy coffee in a coffee shop. what the heck is a short flat latte. what happened to the days when you could just order a white coffee?

It's 5:04 a.m. and I'm tearing into my first pot now. Mmm...Komodo Dragon blend from Starbucks, black with extra caffeine, whipped up in a French press for extra octane.

When the missus gets up I'll have to make her a latte with, get this, Splenda sugar substitute and steamed vanilla Rice Dream...for those lactose-intolerant people who can't even drink soy milk.

Coffee:

Kenco Really Rich

I don't really do Coffee (Northside Dublin - we drink TEA!) but that's the brand I keep in the house for 'occasional use'.

I read somewhere many years ago that something like 0.0001% of Nescafe is dried rat shit, not a lot of people probably know that.... :barf:

So a tall ristretto with wings will do just nicely, thanks very much!

Community Coffee (Louisiana brand, so not too sure how widely marketed the stuff is)...Dark Roast...

and don't add any of that crap cream or sugar to it...

The first thing i remember learning at primary school was that beetle shit is an active ingredient in Smarties

Can't remember who told me that or why but i think it ties in with this discussion quite nicely

I use the same brand/blend, but on some mornings I do need a little sugar to give it a little smoothing down. Especially after a night of french onion soup.

Dont they extract cocchineal from their skins, gives that nice red colour?! Think I could live with that...took a decision with respect to Lesscafe 20 odd years ago and am still on the wagon!

BubbleYum gum is made with spider eggs as I learned in grammar school. I like mine black like Ghoth. Those Folger's tea bag coffee bags are weak, very weak. Takes two or three of them to make the nut.

I used to prefer iced mochas, sometimes French roast, but gave it up because I consider it to be unwholesome as, well, something.

Promite wouldn't be on my list of unwholesome, though, except for the salt and sugar part...

The cheaper coffee over here is about £2 per jar.I get one i consider SLIGHTLY better but not too dear.Comes in at about £3 20p.Some exotic name like CAP COLUMBAN but probably cheap crap in a good DISGUISE.I used to drink mainly tea though. The problem with coffee is i drink too much.I take it WHITE WITH SOME SUGAR unlike CLINT BOON.But seeing as he does not reside on PLANET ROCKET he can do what he likes!I also am struggling at the moment reducing SALT in my diet. But that's another story. But at leat the 100g a day habit has gone. Regards ROCKET Waiting For The Light MICK:thumb: I am gardening TODAY...good for the SOUL(arse)

Espresso, lots of sugar. Only occasionally as it drives me nuts, or i I'm really hungover. Essential after a night on the sauce before teaching English to unmoved French kids back in the day, when I'd be gray of face and shaking of hands before shot of dark magic...

Tu me trouverais toujours au zinc du bar Pasteur dans la quinzieme... la gueule de bois.

If you're ever looking for a decent cup around Waterloo in London, head to Scooterworks on Lower Marsh. Charlie will make you up a decent macciato and they make the best italian hot chocoklate too (so thick you need a spoon). He'll also try to seel you a pink 1971 Vespa. And why not?
