My GCSE English Talk

i can talk for ages about pearl jam, and they are my fave band etc so that would work

but im toying with the idea of doing it on my fave bassists ever which would also work

anyway please help

I'd say fave bass players, then you can do comparisons, what makes them different, etc, which will all make for a good conclusion!

I know you're probably intimidated to ask me directly, but yes, you can interview me for your talk on your favorite bass players. I'm always glad to help out.

But seriously folks: more people are probably familiar with Pearl Jam, but you might have an audience full of Pearl Jam haters you'll have to win over.

If you go with bass players, my only advice is to choose one: seriously, make it bass PLAYER. Always narrow your topic. Pick one, maintain your focus, and then develop as much as you can.

And you do have to remember that pearl jam are shite.

Pearl Jam is too limited a subject, better go for a few Bassplayers who think not only kick ass but are also musically important.

And keep it light/amusing...people pay better attention that way. And if you need any tips on making it more fun for yourself....speak to our Bonz there, she knows a thing or two ;)

Jah wobble is one of MY favourite bassplayers cos he makes strange rumbling noises and likes silly hats.

If you were doing Pearl Jam, you could talk about how they've evolved, and compare their legacy to some of the other grunge bands no longer with us. Then talk about Eddie Vedder's change of image, discuss some of their lyrics, and how they continue to maintain integrity today (taking Ticketmaster to court etc)

Finally, sum up with the rumours of them playing the Carling Festival this year.

How about the pros and cons of using the internet as a tool for unbiased selection of subject matter for a gcse talk ? That way you get to do both subjects in your poll and plenty of supporting material if you get enough replies to the initial post.

Pearl Jam are mint man, but id definately go for the bass players. More variety man. Well different to what i did mine on though, i had to do stereotypes....
