Although I never fired a shotgun (I hate them) I have heard them go off. LOUD and quite a kick. Whenever I fire my high power rifles I get a nice sore spot on my shoulder. Cheney has had open heart surgery. What sort of stress does a 12 guage (20 if he was smart) do on his incisions?

Early reports say the shooting wasn't bad at all. Apparently, it was when Cheney went to gut the guy that all the damage occurred.

the story just keeps getting stranger. didn't have a permit. he shot his lawyer. so presumably he knew that his lawyer was there. well some may say all lawyers deserve to be shot. he tried to keep it quiet. now the poor guy has had had a heart attack.

Smells like Vince Foster. Actually many hunters get blasted this way which is one reason why I hunt by myself. I never heard of a 28 guage.

dont say poor guy- big shot cronie of the bushies. Maybe he was about to break the code of silence. The cover up involved is pure bush adminstration. Always hiding something even a trival hunting accident.

Now that they can search through yahoo searches, i better watch what i say, or i may be eavesdropped.:p

The dude shot his friend. I am a generation apart from NYC so I am more atune to hunting and every year the first day of hunting season, especially shotgun, the news always reports about some yahoos getting blasted in accidents.

So we have here a group of people with scatterguns walking through very tall grass searching for a small quick bird. One guy wanders off to retrieve his prey while the others are still looking for targets. A quail takes off but is between two of the hunters and one gets blasted. Simple violations of basic hunter safety.
