I'm a hip hop 'fan'.. really I'll listen to just about anything, so it's not a problem for me to date a fan of any type... that is, unless they are so tight onto their own music they can't appreciate anything else.

Makes car trips a little unbearable. :laugh:

By hip hop fan, I mean someone who isn't going to string sentences together in ebonics. I'm not really down with trying to decode it as a slang language. :laugh:

i think by fan we me do you love it as much as say new order? well i too can listen to it but not 24/7. perhaps 2/14. that would be my limit.

When I think of "hip hop fan," I think of the girls I see dancing in the hip hop videos-- the soul-less, vacant-eyed, materialistic appendages to the pimps, drug dealers, and murderers "keeping it real" with their raps.

I like a lot of the hip-hop from back in my preteen and teenage days, and every now and then I'll hear a rap song that I take a shine to. I've never really felt compelled to pick up a rap album (though Public Enemy's "greatest hits" collection could make its way to my record collection if I ever get around to it, and I have been fighting with myself about getting Kanye West's stuff because "Gold Digga" is a guilty pleasure of mine). :hat:

I think the very fact that it's the dominant musical format on most radio stations (other than pop-country crap) makes it a bit annoying, but back when it was still a more outlaw genre makes up for the excesses of today. That's my two cents, anyway :\pimp3:

I remember I took a bi-coastal flight a month or so ago, and this really sweet 13 year old girl told me she was celebrating her birthday by going to a Celine Dion concert in Las Vegas. I had to turn my head away so she wouldn't see my grimace. Oh well, she's young enough to change her mind. :)

Studies show that a couple should have simular musical tastes to be a long term success.They had a multi genre club in Miami I went to once SOHO four bars in one club[Hip-hop,college,Industrial,dark goth]talk about clash of civilizations!!It was like GW and Bin Laden at the same club. Ha-ha.
