Finally got the DVD set of Tom Snyder's late night talk show from the late 70s and early 80s, which ran on NBC I think. It's got live performances by Elvis Costello, Iggy, The Ramones, The Jam, and Plasmatics, along with interviews with Paul Weller, Patti Smith and John Lydon and Keith Levene. Bad news is that the eight episodes on the two-disc set include all the interviews of the show, so if one wanted to know what such people as music-biz "impresario" Allen Carr 
had to say, then one can be entertained by what was current then.
My roommate had a video copy of that from long ago, the Lydon/Levene interview (no musical performance) is hilarious, straight (and fairly clueless) Tom being baffled by the concepts that the two PILers were offering. They bummed a few smokes from Tom (would they even show a talk show host smoking now? 
) , and I do remember the final exchange between the two sides.
Tom: Well, it's unfortunate that we're all out of step, except for you
Lydon: That's what I've been trying to tell the world for the last five, six years, if you would only grow up .
