That is, some folk here are beginning to sound a bit like they've wandered in from High Fidelity! People don't really choose their mates (in both senses) on the basis of their music tastes, do they? Though admittedly someone I know once refused to date an attractive woman because she liked Keane (but Keane is an extreme case, no?). My last GF only liked depeche mode and Bollywood musicals.

Anyway, I've always liked the Cure, and never owned a can of hair spray or used any form of make up (I just about manage the use of soap). Mind you I liked them for 6 years before I discovered what they look like. And, goddam it, they're not Goths! I can't stand Goths!

However like 'em as I do, I would never but the Cure in the same catagory as New Order. Only Americans would do something so perverse.
