I would definetly recommend Killing Joke, particularly the track 'The Wait' which Metallica covered on the Garage E.P. But KJ are ten times the better band.

For my own, personal tastes, they're rather non-melodic, and have no swing. Just over-the-top harshness.

Now, you take a band like classic Black Sabbath (only because I haven't listened to anything new they've done since Ozzy left), and they rock full-on metal, BUT they're also melodic, and they swing.

Too much rock not enough roll. Justice wa their last lp that I liked.

like stepping into a time machine. worked nights some years ago and a couple of the guys were spinning tales and tunes..and..how do you tell 'em all apart..w/out any lyrics..or simply audible lyrics.

ALL the bands i listen to have audible lyrics.

I don't like shouty music, because it sucks.

I fuckin hate metal, but i'll happily listen to metallica....they are top notch musicians, and what they lack in melody they make up for in genuine chordic harmony....not every band can get on all Bach and create their harmony from a series of monophonic melodies as NO do.
