Ah well, it was always gonna be the scousers day. Gary Nev saw to that.. Even Kewell was up for it!

It does pose a serious question. Who do I want to win the cup out of Liverpool & Chelsea? It may be Liverpool. That makes me feel a little uneasy :uhoh:

WTF happened with Smith? Very strange. At least he got some care and attention, when I snapped a cruciate I had to walk to my car on the pissing rain and drive home! And was getting rounds in the pub 3 hours later…well ‘ard :\pimp2:

Thoroughly deserved, and I bet Momo Sissoko gets no recognition in my Sun Dream Team. Thought he was outstanding.

Alan Smith has broken a leg and dislocated an ankle; Sir Alex described it as the worst leg injury he has seen.

Yay.. Darren Bent has just banged another one in.

what an awful leg break for smith

Smith looked in some pain though, and he dosnt exactly go down easy. Gotta be liverpool against Chelski. Hate Chelsea. :censored:

He must have a terrible memory then.

that one is worse!!

What is with the Guardian these days? Sounds like they have a load of school kids writing for them. Some journo's are just voyeurs really, they write a load of rubbish about how they percieve real life is, coz they never got to experience it for themselves. At least the Observer have some decent sport journo's though. Even if one of them is an Arsenal supporting chick :evil4:

Alan Smith is class, I feel for him - that's his season and his World Cup done for, and there's no guarantees he'll be the same player. :(

And Liverpool fans singing 'always look on the bright side of life' as he was being strechered off.

Class supporters

Did you see the guy walking next to the stretcher pinching his watch...

must do better John!!

yeh, the majority clapped so fair do's. Every team has a bunch of knobs on the terraces, we got a fair share of dickheads too. (leaving myself wide open for abuse there)

Didn't see that.

Nice touch seeing the Liverpool physio run on too, with genuine concern.

I was still pissing myself at that BigMac somebody threw at Neville and the way LFC kept on putting the ball out so he"d have to take the throw-ins and cop the abuse!

Then Smith happened, just like Cisse the year before...that could end his career, really sad...

Aye, I noticed that as well. Maybe they were only taunting the Man U fans - but the timing was a bit suspect.

As fer Smith, what goes around comes around

Where's ya sense of humour gone?

It's alright to take the piss out of a lad who's had his youth taken away from him but you get all precious about being on the end of a bit of stick? Bit hypocritical isn't it?

Talking of class supporters, I thought the 'You killed your own fans, at Hillsborough, you killed your own fans' chants were a bit off. 'Are you watching Michael Shields?' got a few airings as well.

Smith was warmly applauded off the pitch, by almost the entire ground. I don't think the 'Always look...' coincided with it. Though, 'Ooh aah John Arne Riise, I wanna Know How You Broke His Leg' was sung whilst he was receiving treatment.

It would be difficult for even the most die-hard of Evertonians to deny Peter Crouch some more glory. What a charming gentleman he is.

Unfortunatelt he has the same problem as Fowler, Owen, Heskey, Baros, Cisse and all those centre-forwards who followed Ian Rush - none have had an inside-forward to drop off them. To all those non-footballing experts; square pegs in round holes...

Although I have no care for international football - or any promotion of nationalities (boundaries to human unity) - I would really love to see Peter Crouch score the winning goal for England in the World Cup final. Not only would this mean that the Glazer's have to pay Everton some more cash in the Rooney transfer, but it would silence a many journalists in this country for quite some time.

Was in a strongly Liverpool-favouring pub in North London to see the game and Smith was clapped off twice there. But got cornered by a proper Liverpudlian a little later whose views on race totally harshed my buzz at beating Man U in the FA Cup for the first time in 85 years. Yup, every team has its fair share of idiot fans, alas. Anyone who takes a holier-than-thos approach with regards to supporters of *their* team is sadly misguided, alas.

Not a big fan of Smith as a human being but wish him a speedy recovery.

i was in the paddock in the main stand for the game.

when Smith went down injured there was some normal verbal from the kop & others. because it looked like a strange way to go down.

but once everyone could sense how serious it was, that stopped. when he came off with the gas n air, everyone by me was giving him a generous round of applause.

get well soon Smith! :thumb:
