What a great pop song - it's on the telly now. They're breakdancing in the video. Wooly sweaters, leg warmers heavy fringes - pure 80s :thumb:

For me, the song adds up to much more than the sum of it's parts. The guitars are shit, there's an awful synth sound and Tiffany's vocals are nothing special, apart from when she does that little growl, which is rubbish. I've always liked the drums, especially at the end.

Feel free to share your own guilty pop pleasures.

Right Biggy, I think I inspired you last night, didn't I?

However,

It's a cruel (cruel), cruel summer ... leaving me, leaving me here on my own

Venus was her name

oh and some C. Lauper too

I'll get my coat!

Hey but I was really listening to it when I was 10.

Where's my Barbie doll?

I actually have the ALBUM on tape...

And the 2nd album on LP...

That was BEFORE I listened to something else than the radio and got better musical tastes ;)

And I actually had TICKETS to go see her show with my sister (!) until it got cancelled... it was supposed to be my first ever gig!!

Well, I saved myself from this... my first ever gig was The Bangles instead, followed by Samantha Fox ;)

Oh the days

Tiffany's career would be still up and running if she toured all the TESCOS instead of the shopping malls.Ah thank you.

I think I did hear a cover of it once - quite rocky? I'll look out for Snuffs, I genuinely think it's a good song.

Has anyone ever heard Duran Duran's cover of Come Up And See Me (Make Me Smile). That rocks

That sounds like Snuff... it was played a bit thrashy and very very fast..

I saw Snuff one year at Reading.. they also sang the do it all ad, The flake ad, and it's tasty, tasty very very tasty.. it's very tasty...

They really must be seen to be believed...

I forgot all about the Shake & VAc ad. I'm going to have to nip round my parents house and raid my vinyl collection. I swear I have an album of theirs somewhere with a cover of hazy shade of winter on it...
