I normally quite like the chirpy 'cor blimey, apples and pears' rap ramblings of Mr Mike Skinner. Cheeky spokesman for the inner city white kids and all that.

Saw the video for this on Channel Four the other night, and heard it on the radio two or three times since. From the lyrics, I gather he's worried that camera phones make it easier to take films of him snorting coke, and that shagging a celebrity is different.. Or something like that.

Basically.. Three words some up the song in my eyes.

Karaoke Cockney Cack.

I thought he was from the Midlands?

I quite like the Streets. They're doing something a bit different.

I remember when the first album started doing well, someone asked Skinner how being rich would affect his music. He replied that he was hardly going to be able to sing about being poor on the dole now he was a rich pop star, so he'd probably have to start writing songs about shagging supermodels on cocaine. I saw his new one on the telly yesterday and, well, he seems to have done exactly that.

He is from the midlands. You're right at least his lyrics evolve, although sometimes it doesn't seem like proper music to me, but the storylines are quite funny. I think the new album is a story of a summer of going to all the festivals. So some good material there.
