LOST is annoying! I don't think the writers really knows what will happen. They just invents things for the day. Thank's god for Desperate Housewifes!

They only film 3 episodes ahead!

The plot is unravelling slowly I agree, but there are another 4 Seasons to come yet!

Desperate Housewives?!!? dont make me laugh

have you gotten to the point where ___________ kidnaps ___________ in collusion with ___________ so they can hide the guns from everyone in the camp? and they find __________ in the jungle and don't know if he's real or one of ___________ ?

i think if you don't press the numbers nothing will happen--it's an experiment in mind control--hence the name the dharma project; dharma, translating from the sanskrit as social order, the way of truth, or virtue. notice how everyone on the island has something in their conscience of which they want to rid themselves? i think they were placed there to find dharma. along with a lot of other weird stuff like polar bears.

Interesting.....So this is a projected run type thing....like babylon 5 was. But JMS HAD 5 years of a story arc before he started ( I know it changed and much of the fifth year ended up in season 4 when it looked like 5 was not going to be made.....leaving series 5 a little weak on good arc episodes). Maybe there WAS a strong arc plot to start with ( tho the episodes I have seen, hid it well amongst highly obvious and tired soap plots), and it's been pummelled to death by notes from networks suits. Are the original creators still at the helm of the show?

the french chick shooting balloon dude with a spear and the sayid flashbacks was episode 14, wasn't it?

and i posted this before, but it's the most compehensive theory i've seen so far:

ultimate theory

i also think that john locke's name is no coincidence. the philosopher john locke believed that a successful government could only work if it had the consent of the governed. he believed in the rights of liberty and life and that each man is equal and independent. lost's 'john locke' seems to take on the role of 'philosopher-king' on the island as he works benevolently, yet firmly, to keep peace on the island. i think the writers based much of his character on the british philosopher. also, while john locke was a man of science, obtaining a medical degree, he was also a man of faith, writing several books on christianinty and the role of the church in society. he was both 'a man of science AND a man of faith.'

I faithfully watched Season 1 in the UK but got frustrated towards the end and started to read ahead on the net to US season 2 and got a bit confused by all the new characters and couldn't quite cope with all the 'new' developments - think I need to see it all to take it in... However much Lost frustrates me in terms of seeming so sprawling and directionless and random, it is fantastic to theorise about it all - it is very cleverly put together and like Harry Potter (the books anyway) I'm sure alot of the little details will gradually begin to explain themselves and offer some greater sense of cohesion to the whole thing... Love the theories as well - but I always find myself believing each one I read completely until I read something else and then think... "Of course, that's gotta be it..." until I read the next one... Rambling now...

Am I the only one that thinks Lost sucks?

What time does it air on the East coast, out of interest?

I'm off to San Francisco next week and should catch the next two episodes in real time, rather than on download TV.

nope I tried really hard to like it....but it was just same-old same-old...with some contrived tension superimposed for no logical reason.

I can deal with wobbly sets and spaceships on strings.....but soap operae I fear.....soaps disguised as real shows...I hate :D

It doesn't do it for me, they are dragging it out too much. Would have made a good film.

How come their hair never grows? The men aren't growing long beards and the women still have shaved legs and plucked eyebrows for god sake??

I suppose there would be a few razors an scissors in the luggage, but it wouldn't be my priorty in that situation.

it's only been 50-odd days on the island. we've seen jack shave and maybe the women had waxes right before they boarded the plane.

just a thought.

Last episode I watched was Episode 10 of Season 2.Can't seem to download any lately.Never get tired of it,but I wish they wouldn't string it out too long. The makers probably think that they would get away with multi-seasonal X-Files thing, but where X-Files stung along this conspiracy for 9 series, they at least fleshed it out with other stories.
